Amid rising cases of COVID in Italy and in the Jewish community, the Chabad center hosted private services for Rosh Hashana while in the terrace the Rosh Hashana Seder was held.
Local and students originating from Israel, the US, UK, Belgium, Poland and Brazil, were seated either in their groups or distanced. Students originating from various parts of the world were able to meet others and connect, by divine providence two sets of people who were sitting on the same table discovered that they live very close to each other.
On Sunday afternoon the local park filled up with locals and students and even a family from Barcelona, with children living in Berlin, who didn’t want to miss the opportunity to hear the Shofar in a COVID safe setting, Rabbi Lazar then connected the family with Chabad rabbis in their cities.
The sound of the Shofar filled the park as over fifty people closed their eyes to experience the Mitzvah in the beautiful setting.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, individually wrapped honey cakes were distributed to all and the participants expressed their thanks for the initiative.
