Students, locals, visitors, young and old came to hear the Megillah reading at Chabad Piazza Bologna’s Purim meal. During the reading a animated slideshow with the story of Purim played in the background, keeping the public very quiet! Following the reading the participants enjoyed an israeli style meal.
The event was made possible thanks to El Al, the general sponsor and various other food sponsors: Little Tripoli, Baghetto, Pane al Pane, Mondo di Laura and Kosher Delight.
A raffle on a round trip ticket to Israel offered by Kishrei Teufa and two lunches at Daruma Sushi was held for whoever listened to the Meghillà. The winner of the lunches was Ori Molayem and the round trip ticket was won by Cheryl Rosenberg.
Following her winning of the ticket, Cheryl posted the following on facebook: “I’ve always loved Israel but I’ve never been one of those people who was certain Aliyah was in her future. To be honest, it wasn’t even an ideal for me for a long time. In recent years I’ve come closer and closer to recognizing Eretz Yisrael as my ideal but have remained realistic about the possibility of it becoming a reality. This past Shabbat I was in Shul when it dawned on me that, maybe in 5 years and maybe in 55 years, Aliyah is definitely in my future.
At Seudah today with Rabbi and Rebbetzin Lazar at Chabad Piazza Bologna, Rome I won a round trip flight to Israel from Rome. ISRAEL SEE YOU ON SHAVUOT!! I’M COMING HOME!”
Special thanks to the photographer Cheryl Rosenberg who incidentally was also the winner of the round trip ticket to Israel, Shani Barnea, Binyamin Shachor, Alex Molayem who’s wife won the two lunches at Daruma Sushi, Yotam Elimelch and Irit Harvered.
